Visit of Fatih Billingal School Australia Students to the Malindo Utama Gayo Process Site for a Study Tour of the Coffee Industry

Takengon, Aceh- Today, a group of students from Fatih Billingal School Australia visited the processing site of Malindo Utama Gayo, a leading coffee cooperative in Gayo Highlands, Indonesia. This visit is part of a coffee industry tour study program that aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the coffee production process and the importance of this industry to the local community.

This visit was organized in collaboration between Fatih Billingal School and Malindo Utama Gayo. The students are accompanied by their teachers and tour guides who are experienced in the coffee industry. They are given the opportunity to see directly the process of refining, harvesting, processing and packaging of coffee beans.

During the visit, students were given an in-depth explanation of the types of coffee grown in the Gayo Highlands, the processing methods used, and the quality measures implemented by Malindo Utama Gayo. They also had the opportunity to interact with local coffee farmers and learn about the challenges involved in producing high quality coffee.

“This visit is a very valuable experience for us students. We can see with our own eyes the process from raw coffee beans to a delicious cup of coffee. This not only increases their knowledge of the coffee industry, but also gives them a deeper appreciation of the struggles of coffee farmers and the importance of sustainability in coffee production,” said Mr. Mehmet, Fatih Billingal School Student.

On the other hand, representatives from Malindo Utama Gayo expressed their hope that this visit could encourage students’ interest to be involved in the coffee industry and understand the important value of sustainable coffee production. “We hope that this visit can spark students’ interest in being involved in the coffee industry, whether as farmers, processors, or selling coffee. We want the younger generation to realize the potential and opportunities that exist in this industry,” said Mr. Iqbal, representative for Malindo Utama Gayo.

This visit is expected to have a long-term positive impact on students and the coffee industry as a whole. Fatih Billingal School plans to continue this coffee industry tour program for their students in the future, as well as establishing further collaboration with companies in the coffee industry to support student education and development.
